Harrison Country Club
at Sasquatch Springs RV Resort Harrison Hot Springs, BC |
| April 2008 Dear RV Camping Guest, As you may have heard, changes are afoot at Sasquatch Springs. The purpose of this letter is to outline the opportunities which are being created for your seasonal camping pleasure. A private club. After 22 years of hosting thousands of overnight campers from all over the world, Sasquatch Springs RV Resort is now closed to the general public. The property is being transformed into a private camping club called Harrison Country Club, (HCC). The objective is to create a more tranquil resort setting with a lot less people, a lot less traffic, a lot less noise and a generally more restful place for members to relax in. The HCC members will enjoy a higher degree of privacy, more open space and enhanced facilities and services. The new entrance gate will be controlled by key cards. Only members of HCC will be permitted to rent RV campsites from Sasquatch Springs, which will continue to run the facility. All-inclusive. Electricity, water, sewer and expanded cable TV services will be included in the site rental. Wifi internet connection will be included at no additional charge, when we figure out how to do this. All of the canoes, kayaks, games and other amenities will be available to members to use at no charge. More of the roads will be paved, trees pruned and landscaping changed as the sites are re-engineered to suit larger units and more-permanent use. Existing sites will be expanded where possible and roadways may be narrowed as there will be less need for RV maneouvering space. Personalized sites. All sites will have large paver patios and these will be customised to suit the RVs using them. Members will have more freedom to landscape within their campsites. Additional privacy fencing will be installed as needed. Small storage cupboards will be permitted on sites but larger storage sheds will be only permitted behind the rec room, leaving more living space on site. Wooden decks will be permitted within the campsites for a more rustic/ cottage atmosphere. Better facilities. The rec room will become more of a clubhouse with comfortable seating, fireplace, piano, big TV and other accoutrements. A new marquee tent will be installed where the teepee was and this will be the site of social activities including happy hour, BBQs and campfire nights. Free firewood will be provided for the campfire, though wood fires will still be restricted by Village bylaws. Year-round use. HCC membership and campsite rental will be for 12 months and members may use their RVs recreationally year-round, though there will be a limitation on water supply in the winter as we still have to drain most of the pipes. Harrison zoning bylaws currently restrict RV use to 180 total days in any year. Equitable pricing . The 2008 annual cost of all this will be around $3,000 for a basic RV site, payable in advance. As has been our pricing practice, there will be a small premium (10%) on riverside sites. We will also have a few XL Supersites for larger units which will attract a 50% premium. All RVs must remain licensed and insured. No sales, rentals, residency or sub leases will be permitted. Sites may not be assigned or passed on to others. Site selection & allocation process. The following site allocation process is designed to be as fair as possible to all:-
We hope that you can find a happy place at HCC. Please feel free to call us or email us (happyharrison@shaw.ca) if you have any questions. Dont forget to respond to this letter promptly by mail or by fax ( 604-796-2040). Yours, |
